Outward giving at St. Peter's Church

St. Peters' Church Council has carried out its three yearly review of outward giving and below is a list of the organisations (along with external web links) that we wish to support. An amount of 10% of the church's income will be tithed to the following organisations at home and abroad:-

The Christian Institute in Jos Diocese
A theological college situated in Plateau State, Nigeria. The Diocese of Jos is where the Most REV. (Dr) Benjamin A. Kwashi is Dean of St. Luke's Cathedral Church, Jos. His wife Gloria is Diocesan President, Mothers' Union & Women's Guild.


CPAS (Church Pastoral Aid Society)
They exist to inspire and enable churches to reach everyone in their communities with the good news of  Jesus Christ.

MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship)
They are a faith-based, non-profit ministry. Teams of aviation, communications and technology specialists overcome barriers, transform lives, and enable the work of more than 600 organizations around the world.

MHA (Methodist Homes for the Aged )
This was founded by the Methodist Church in 1943 as an independent charity to improve the lives of older people, based on the Christian principles of love, compassion and respect.

Mildmay
A Christian charity, providing health care and other services in England and Africa. They Specialise in HIV/AIDS care, education and training.

Tearfund
This is a leading relief and development charity, working in partnership with Christian agencies and churches worldwide to tackle the causes and effects of global poverty.

Vaughan House, Guildford
This is a supported housing project for 45 homeless men and women aged between 18 and 65, run by the English Churches Housing Group (ECHG). ECHG is a national and charitable housing association providing rented accommodation, housing management and care services to 10,000 people with housing needs throughout England.

Wycliffe Bible Translators
Their one aim is to offer the Bible in every language that needs it. It is serving global missions through Bible translation and literacy in the native language of people everywhere.

The Church Council have also agreed to tithe 10% of monies raised internally for the Heritage Appeal to go to Diocese of Kebbi, Nigeria (linked with Runnymede Deanery).
